Quetta is the capital city of Baluchistan province and is the center of education and knowledge. This city has the considerable number of population and has some important buildings in the city, which are included the Provincial Assembly, Governor House, Chief Minister House, Provincial Secretariat, High Court and some other government offices. The schools and colleges are established in the city to provide education to the students at all levels including matric and intermediate classes.

Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Quetta was established to provide quality of education to the students and also holds the annual and supply exams of matric and FA/FSc in the Quetta schools and colleges. Quetta colleges are busy in providing education at the intermediate and graduate levels to the students. BISE Quetta is the sole education board of Baluchistan, which is responsible for managing the exams at SSC and HSSC classes of the whole province.

Baluchistan University Quetta was established to provide post-graduate and doctoral education and also carry out research work in different disciplines. There are some other educational institutes like Baluchistan Agriculture College, Baluchistan University of Information Technology & Management Sciences, Baluchistan Institute of Technology, National Institute of Sciences & Arts, Government College Sariab, Government Technical Trade Training Center, Al-Hamd Islamic University and Chiltan College of Business & Commerce, which are contributing in provision of education to the students of Quetta and rest of province.
